U3PCB design
Circuit boards, ready to manufacture.
We design the schematic and the circuit board - from choosing the parts to the files for the manufacturer. Checked for fabrication and assembly before the first board is ordered.
- Schematic and layout
- Gerber + BOM
- Alternate parts
- STEP model
What we solve
When people call us about a board
01
You need a board to your spec
From the block diagram to finished files: part selection, schematic, placement and routing.
02
Parts have gone out of stock
We rework the board for available parts and list the alternates in the BOM, so it does not happen again.
03
The prototype is modules and wires
We move the circuit from the dev board onto one circuit board, sized and shaped for the enclosure.
04
The board fails its tests
We review the supply, the grounds and the radio layout and propose a revision with a clear reason.
What you get
Files that open without us.
You get the source files, not just the fabrication output, so you or your next engineer can pick up where we left off.
| Document | Format | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Schematic | Source files + PDF | Hierarchical, with numbered revisions |
| Circuit board | Source project | Layers, rules and constraints |
| Fabrication files | Gerber + drill | Checked for the chosen manufacturer |
| Assembly package | BOM + placement | With alternates for the key parts |
| 3D model | STEP | For designing the enclosure |

How it runs
From the brief to the first boards
- 01
Requirements
Functions, size, connectors, power supply and quantities.
2-5 days
- 02
Schematic
Part selection and a schematic with the calculations.
1-3 weeks
- 03
Placement and routing
Layers, power, the radio and mechanical constraints.
1-3 weeks
- 04
Review
Rules, manufacturability, assembly, and a review with you.
3-5 days
- 05
First boards
Ordering, assembly and the power-up of the first samples.
1-3 weeks
Durations are for a board of medium complexity. A board with a radio, many layers or high density takes longer.
Proof
Boards that work outdoors
The electronics of RiNGY and NSpot were designed, assembled and tested by us - in schools and in the Sea Garden.
Questions about circuit boards
Do you order the manufacturing as well?
For the first samples, yes. For production we prepare the package for a fabrication and assembly house of your choice, so you do not depend on us.
How many layers will the board have?
As many as the task needs - most often two or four. We decide after the schematic, because the layer count affects the cost of every unit.
Can you rework an existing board?
Yes, if you have the source files. Without them we can recover the schematic from the board itself - see Repair & support.
